The term ‘Life Skills’ refers to the skills you need to make the most out of life. Life skills are usually associated with managing and living a better quality of life, helping us to accomplish our ambitions and live to our full potential. Any skill that is useful in life can be considered a life skill.
Lessons delivered by our Life Skills department will allow students to develop a whole range of skills, whilst participating in group and teamwork activities where social interaction and confidence building will be promoted, aiming to achieve two qualifications:
The Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme will offer Bronze and Silver opportunities, giving students the chance to try new and exciting activities, often for the first time. The opportunities can be life-changing experiences which allow students to develop a range of life skills through an innovative and unique programme of activities and challenges.
Students need to feel they are being supported in making informed choices and taking positive steps towards their future employability. The ASDAN Certificate of Personal Effectiveness provides a range of transferable work-related experiences which will support students in all sectors of industry.
